What’s our story?

Fuse was established in 2012, but our team of lawyers have been providing legal advice to businesses for over 20 years. This expertise, combined with our caring yet no-BS approach, is what helps us attract - and keep - clients.

When our founding partner, Chris Burrell, started Fuse, the focus of the firm was to help business clients with employment matters. Since then, we have evolved in line with our clients’ needs. Today, we partner with select clients as key strategic legal advisers in niche industries.

Importantly, we are not just a gaggle of lawyers. We see ourselves as a tribe of fast-acting legal experts committed to shared goals.

    Chris is the founder and face of Fuse Law. With over 20 years of experience in providing business, corporate and emplyment law advice to businesses, Chris uses his knowledge and insights to help clients realise their business visions and goals..

    Chris has extensive experience in advising corporate clients in both public and private transactions, capital raisings, M&A, corporate restructuring, compliance and regulatory issues, and corporate advisory work.

    When not lawyering, Chris is passionate about food and wine and is dangerously obsessed with lawn bowls.

    Kate Cantrell, one of our partners, is lucky enough to reside and work in the Gold Coast Hinterland. She has a passion for contract drafting and revision (yes, true!). Kate has a Masters in Intellectual Property Law from Melbourne University, and the vast grey area that trade mark law entails is where she excels. Kate will be there for you business law, property, and IP needs.

    Kate’s love for reading spills into her personal life, as (self-appointed) President of the Tallebudgera Book Club. She left Geelong not long after her twins were born to follow the sunshine, and has spent the last ten years there raising her three children and servicing our Australia-wide clients from her little pocket of paradise. An early riser, runner, lover of Italy, Kate works fast to build rapport and is committed to providing swift and real help to her clients.

  • We are currently seeking a senior lawyer/associate with 4+ years broad commercial and corporate law experience to join our firm in Geelong in early 2024

    You will be commercially astute, have a strong eye for detail and be team player. In addition, you will have a demonstrated willingness to build effective relationships with high quality clients.
